About Our Service
Rent it, fix it, or own it — one shop for every generator need.
Generators San Diego does three things and does them all in-house: we rent diesel and natural-gas units to job sites, businesses, and events; we service and repair every major brand of standby and portable generator; and we sell and install new permanent standby units for homes and commercial facilities. Factory-trained techs, C-10 licensed, monitored 24/7.
How We Work
Whether you need power tomorrow or want a permanent unit in the side yard, the steps are the same: size it right, install it clean, monitor it.
1. Load calc and size the unit
Tell us your equipment list or critical-load list. We compute running kW and starting kW and pick a unit with margin so it never stalls on motor start.
2. Delivery and hookup
Flatbed delivery anywhere in the San Diego metro. Our crew lands the leads, ties grounds, runs a load test, and walks you through the panel before leaving.
3. Fuel and monitor
Scheduled fuel delivery is included. Remote monitoring tracks faults and fuel level 24/7 so we dispatch before you run dry.
When You Need Generator Rentals
Rent instead of buy when:
- Job site needs temporary power — raw lots, tear-downs, or projects where the temp service pole isn’t set yet.
- You need backup during a planned event — PSPS shutoffs, scheduled outages, server moves, or fire-season standby.
- Event or production needs quiet power — outdoor weddings, film shoots, festivals, and pop-ups where a venue tap won’t cut it.
- Permanent generator is in the shop — temporary unit while your standby is being serviced or rebuilt.
- Project is short or seasonal — buying a standby unit makes no sense if you only need it for a season.
- Need Tier 4 compliance fast — air-quality-restricted sites and public works projects require certified units.
Tell us the kW and the duration and we'll quote a flat rate the same day. Call: (619) 257-2867

What Affects the Cost of Generator Rentals
Rental pricing is a flat daily, weekly, or monthly rate plus fuel. Depends on:
- Generator size. 25kW to 500kW in our fleet. Right-sized is cheapest — over-spec’d wastes fuel.
- Rental length. Monthly is far cheaper per day than daily. Long-term contracts get pre-stage discounts.
- Fuel. Diesel for most jobs; natural gas where a line is available — lower cost on long runs.
- Fuel delivery cadence. Scheduled delivery is included. Emergency same-day adds a fee.
- Sound rating. Standard sound-attenuated is baseline. Super-quiet film/event-spec units cost more.
- Delivery distance. Within the San Diego metro is included; long-haul deliveries get a flat fuel quote.
Quoting is straightforward: tell us kW, timeline, and delivery address and we'll send a flat rate the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast can you deliver a rental in San Diego?
Most rentals deliver next day. Same-day is possible when we have a unit on the yard — call us and we’ll check.
What sizes do you stock?
Diesel and natural-gas from 25kW to 500kW. Most-rented sizes: 25kW for small sites and events, 100kW for mid-jobs, 250–500kW for commercial and multifamily.
Do rentals include fuel?
Single-day rentals usually include fuel. Multi-day and long-term rentals quote fuel as a separate line, with scheduled refill delivery included.
Can I rent for a single event?
Yes. Daily rentals are common for weddings, shoots, festivals, and pop-ups. We size the unit, deliver, place it quietly, and pick up after.
What about PSPS or fire-season standby?
We do pre-stage contracts for businesses in PSPS-affected areas — we stage a unit on your property and monitor regional weather and PSPS alerts so you have power before the shutoff hits.
